“We had an absolutely stunning walk with Joanna from Iya London in White City. She shared captivating stories about the area. Joanna was very flexible in adapting the walk to Upstream’s needs. She made the process of organizing the event as easy as possible for us, by, for example, providing draft explanatory text and photographs.
I am delighted to recommend Iya London to businesses in White City looking for a bespoke walk where colleagues can have some fun, while building their connections with each other and learning about the neighbourhood where they work.”

“Joanna Oyediran curated a walk around White City for our students at the School of Communication, who study in the area. Under Joanna’s expert guidance, my students were shown the history of the place with a special emphasis on its media history.
The walk took us past a variety of sites where we were told of events, plans, and situations that made us think about broader tendencies in city design, marketing, social life, and the changes in the area over the last 100 years.
The walk was exciting, full of relevant larger stories and smaller facts, some of which still make me laugh every time I pass a certain spot. White City will never be the same again for us, and the walk inspired new ways of looking at a space we thought we were familiar with.”

“For a recent team night out, we undertook a historical walk of the area where we work - West London. It genuinely was a great change from the usual team social outing to a bar or restaurant.
Firstly, we all got some extra steps in (important when desk-based).
Secondly, we gleaned a whole host of facts about the buildings and land that we all so blindly walked upon - or have, in some cases, even worked in, over many years. The area around the former BBC TV Centre is particularly rich in history and the daily walk to our offices even passes the spot of the 1908 Olympics start/finish line.
I cannot recommend this activity enough - appraised of all the extra historical facts, it completely changes your perspective, opening your eyes to what has once stood or, sometimes, still stands. The whole team genuinely loved it. Thank you again Joanna.”

“Joanna Oyediran, who is an enthusiastic supporter of our group, has delivered a guided tour and also an online lecture for us in recent times. Both were well-attended and very popular with our members and guests. Joanna’s style cannot be pigeon-holed as being either overly obvious or overly estoteric: she always succeeds at hitting the exact right spot. Her material is always meticulously-researched and delivered in a friendly and articulate way. I strongly recommend Joanna to lead or present your event.”

“Joanna was a fantastic tour guide who had lots of extensive knowledge of the subject area; you could tell she had researched it so thoroughly. She was patient with the group as we went around and made sure that everyone was comfortable. We learnt so much from our time with Joanna, and would absolutely recommend her again.”

"Joanna treated the volunteers of The Green Project Shepherd's Bush to an engaging tour. The weather was fantastic, and we met some wonderful new people during the walk.
It's remarkable to see how places like the Japanese garden are preserved as treasures within our community.
Our day exploring White City's Hidden Gems with Joanna was truly fantastic, revealing the rich history right in our own neighbourhood. From the exquisite Japanese garden to enjoying delicious Mochi and green tea courtesy of Ichiba, it was a memorable experience.
I strongly believe that every local school should include this tour as part of their curriculum, as it would greatly benefit the community."

"I approached Joanna Oyediran to deliver a walking tour of Earl's Court and the West Kensington and Gibbs Green estates as part of our outreach and awareness-raising strategy.
She did a smashing job on choosing the location, putting together an informative and engaging walk, and also ensuring that we got to speak with a community member who was a key part of the fight to save the estate.
The attendees learnt so much and I would gladly recommend Joanna for future tours."

"We had the pleasure of welcoming Joanna to lead a Walk & Talk for Nova. She guided us around key monumental sites and explored the moments that made Notting Hill Carnival what we see today.
Our group left informed, inspired and excited for all they could explore during the weekend ahead.
Joanna was very thorough in her knowledge shared, and patient in answering questions and engaging in flowing conversation. Thank you for your support!"

"Our London colleagues enjoyed a great walking tour with Joanna of White City - learning a lot of history we were previously unaware of and even finding some local areas we didn’t know existed, which I am sure we will visit now in future!
The walk helped us get moving at a perfect pace for the time we had, though I know if we’d had time we would have wanted to keep going. Thank you again Joanna!"
